Autumn is one of my favourite times of year for gifting. The evenings are drawing in, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate, and Christmas is starting to appear on the horizon. But there’s no need to wait until December to find a reason to give someone a thoughtful gift.
This Autumn Gift Guide brings together a selection of wonderful products from makers and independent sellers. Rather than simply giving you a list of things you can buy, I wanted to introduce you to the people behind the products too - these amazing small businesses are all part of the Giftwrapped by Eve community.

Heather Sky Scottish Amethyst Silver Necklace from Silver Thistle Workshop
Liverpool, Merseyside
Aimee Sandilands is the silversmith behind Silver Thistle Workshop in Liverpool, making necklaces, rings and earrings by hand using recycled silver. Her designs are inspired by my Scottish heritage, Scotland’s landscapes and coast, and old-world relics. When her mum passed, Aimee felt she was encouraging her to finally pursue the creative work she'd wanted to do, and that led her to start the business. She particularly enjoys choosing the gemstones and seeing a piece come together at my workbench.
Heather Sky Scottish Amethyst Silver Necklace. Aimee made this necklace by hand using recycled silver and natural Scottish amethyst. Its purple tones remind her of heather-covered hills beneath a Highland sky.
This is a gift for someone who holds Scotland close to their heart. The amethyst itself comes from the mountains of Scotland, so the connection goes beyond the design. Gail Hellings creates needle-felted friends and other woolly things, inspired by Cornwall’s coast, countryside, folklore and the characters I find along the way. She started TwoTuth after discovering needle felting and finding a wonderfully creative way to turn wool into something folk could enjoy and treasure. What she particularly loves is bringing each fluff to life and seeing the reaction when someone finds a felted friend that makes them smile.
Felted Friends are a little bit different from the usual gift and chosen because they mean something to the person receiving them. Whether it’s a favourite animal, a remit of home or simply a character that makes someone laugh, they’re gifts with personality rather than something destined for the back of a cupboard!
