Greener Gift Wrapping: Simple Swaps and Creative Ideas

My popular talk explores how we can make more thoughtful choices when wrapping gifts, reducing unnecessary waste and making better use of materials we already have.

I'll share some simple ways to make your gift wrapping more sustainable, including alternatives to traditional wrapping paper, sticky tape and other single-use materials.

You'll discover how to make the most of materials such as kraft paper, paper tape and tissue paper, as well as exploring the possibilities of fabric wrapping (Furoshiki). I'll demonstrate several techniques and share ideas that you can easily try at home, helping you to create beautifully presented gifts with less waste.

The talk can be booked all year round, with ideas and demonstrations tailored to suit the season, whether that's spring celebrations, summer birthdays, autumn occasions or Christmas.

There are two formats available:

Talk and demonstrations: A longer talk with more information, ideas and practical demonstrations of different wrapping techniques.
Talk and mini workshop: A shorter talk followed by a hands-on activity where members can have a go at making their own mini gift bag. All materials are provided at no extra cost.

From simple fabric wrapping techniques to creative ways of making the most of reusable materials, you'll learn how to create attractive gift presentations without relying on single-use wrapping products.

Discover the Japanese-inspired art of wrapping gifts in fabric. Learn how to use different fabrics and simple knots to create beautiful, reusable gift wrapping that can be enjoyed time and time again.

Creative & Sustainable Gift Wrapping

Explore alternative materials and techniques, discover new ways to reuse what you already have and learn how to make your gifts look special while reducing waste.

Workshops are friendly, relaxed and suitable for beginners. I'll guide you through each technique, so you don't need any previous experience. Sessions can be adapted to suit your group, available time and the type of experience you're looking for.
