Are Seasonal Moments Slipping Past Your Product Business?

Have you ever noticed an occasion coming up, thought “I should do something with that”, and then suddenly it’s over?

If you run a product-based business, you’re not alone. Seasonal moments and gifting occasions often pass by quietly, not because your products aren’t suitable, but because it isn’t always obvious how to use them. Let’s look at a really current example.

Valentine’s and Galentine’s: More Opportunity Than You Might Think

Valentine’s Day (and Galentine’s) are just a month away.

For lots of small product businesses, these occasions come and go without much impact. And it’s rarely down to lack of effort. More often, it’s because the occasion feels unclear or a bit awkward to work with.

You might catch yourself thinking:

  • “My products aren’t romantic enough”

  • “People wouldn’t buy this as a Valentine’s gift”

  • “It’s probably too late to do anything now”

All very understandable thoughts — especially when Valentine’s is often shown as hearts, roses and grand gestures.

But that’s only part of the picture.

What These Occasions Are Really About

Valentine’s and Galentine’s aren’t just about romance.

They’re about:

  • Letting someone know you’re thinking of them

  • Celebrating friendship

  • Small acts of care and kindness

  • Thoughtful, meaningful gestures

When you look at them this way, so many products already fit beautifully.

A candle becomes a moment of calm. Skincare becomes self-care. Stationery becomes a thoughtful note or message. A handmade item becomes a gift with meaning behind it.

Often, it’s not the product that needs changing — it’s how we frame it.

Why Seasonal Opportunities Feel Easy to Miss

Seasonal moments don’t usually slip past because you haven’t tried hard enough.

They slip past because there isn’t always clarity.

People buy gifts around moments and occasions — not just Christmas and birthdays, but all the quieter, in-between ones too. If those moments aren’t on your radar early enough, they’re easy to overlook until it feels too late to do anything with them.

And that’s when “maybe next year” creeps in.

You Don’t Need New Products or Complicated Campaigns

This is something I really want you to hear.

You don’t need to:

  • Create new products

  • Redesign everything

  • Run big, overwhelming campaigns

Most of the time, it’s about learning to see more gifting opportunities in what you already sell — and using packaging, presentation and messaging to support that. Small, intentional changes can make a big difference.

This is exactly why I created my Unwrap the Potential challenge.

Over three days of short, practical sessions, I help product-based business owners:

  • Spot seasonal and occasion-based opportunities

  • See how their existing products can be positioned as thoughtful gifts

  • Feel clearer and more confident about what to promote — and when

It’s designed to feel supportive and doable, not overwhelming.

Hi Eve, just wanted to say a huge thanks for the fabulous challenge and masterclass. It was really great and I think such a valuable asset for small business owners. Steph Roff, Tropic Ambassador

Making Occasions Feel Easier — All Year Round

If you’ve ever watched an occasion pass and thought “I’ll do something with that next year”, this challenge will really help.

Seasonal moments don’t have to feel stressful or last-minute. With a bit of clarity and intention, they can become a natural part of how you market your products — and how customers experience them as gifts.

👉 The January Unwrap the Potential challenge starts next week. It’s a simple, encouraging way to start seeing more opportunities in the products you already sell.
