9 Giftwrapping Ideas to Boost Your PTA Fundraising

Giftwrapping isn’t just about making presents look pretty; it can also be a clever way to boost your PTA’s fundraising efforts. Here are nine creative ideas to help you get started:

1. Wrapping Service Stall

Set up a giftwrapping station at school events, e.g. Christmas fayre where attendees can pay a small fee to have their gifts wrapped. This not only generates funds but also provides a convenient service for busy parents.

2. Host a Giftwrapping Workshop for grown ups

Run a fun and creative ticketed event for grown ups to learn how to gift wrap. Boost the fundraising with refreshments and a raffle.

3. Wrap gifts for a mystery prize stall

Use the element of surprise to create a new way to run a tombola or similar stall at your events.

4. Gift Shop for Children

Set up a shop where children can choose a gift for family members and wrap them too. This could work for events such as mother's day, father's day, Valentine's Day or Christmas.

5. Auction of promises for Christmas chores

Compile a series of prizes for Christmas chores eg food shopping, Christmas lights set-up, Christmas tree purchase/delivery and giftwrapping!

6. Scrap wrapping competition

Run a competition with a small entry fee with a prize awarded to the person who creates the best looking gift with re-purposed materials.

7. Gift hampers

Create and wrap themed hampers using covered shoeboxes to raffle as part of your next fundraiser. Use 'Shoe Box to Gift Box' masterclass to help you.

8. Giftwrapping Materials Stall

Another idea for your Christmas fayre. Put together wrapping packages that include everything needed busy parents who want to wrap quickly —wrapping paper, tape and gift tags. Offer them at different price points to fit various budgets.

9. Student-Created Wrapping Paper

Offer a means for students to create their own wrapping paper design - either at a stall at your fayre with brown paper and ink stamps OR in partnership with a printer.

I'd love to hear if you try and of these ideas.

Happy wrapping and fundraising!
